Qualified Hypnotherapist and NLP Master practitioner
I became interested in hypnotherapy at the start of 2020, this was just prior to the coronavirus pandemic arriving and sending the world into total chaos. Like many I was unfortunate to be made redundant shortly after the lockdown got underway, when it was becoming clear that many business couldn't stay afloat unless drastic action was taken. Following on from this however it left me with a great opportunity to devote myself to studying and qualifying as a hypnotherapist. Leading on from this I studied and qualified as a NLP (Neuro Linquistic Programming) practitioner and am now studying for an Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma. The style of therapy I've leaned towards throughout learning is a model called CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) This model focuses on evidence based techniques and works exceptionally well with hypnosis. There are certain areas I'm particularly interested in specialising in which hold great interest for me, and that is Anxiety Management, Pain Management, Weight Loss, Menopausal Symptoms and Habit Reversal. These all have an excellent scientifically proven evidence base to support them using hypnotherapy, and I feel are all prevalent issues in society today.
- Offer immediate, instant solutions or short-term fixes.
- Make unreasonable promises or guarantee a cure.
- Profess to be an expert at curing every and any known issue, because there are treatments that are better than hypnotherapy for some issues and ailments.
As with any medical or therapeutic process there can be no definite guarantees. No surgeon will or can guarantee their work and results. This is no different for my hypnotherapy programmes. Hypnotic programmes are partly reliant on 'you' the client. You will be required to be 100% committed and motivated, in return I guarantee I will do my best to help you.
If you would like further information, please get in touch, I'm happy to answer any queries you may have.
Will I be asleep during hypnotherapy?
The simple answer is no. You will be in a very pleasant relaxed state but able to hear everything being said around you, Hypnotherapy requires a mindset that is focused and engaged, and so therefore contrary to belief that during hypnosis you will be oblivious to everything, the exact opposite serves to be true.. Therefore if at any time you feel you want to break the state of hypnosis, you will easily be able to, you are in control at all times.
Will I do anything I'm not happy with?
Absolutely not. You will have full control of everything you want to happen. You will only respond in such a way that you are completely comfortable and happy with, the direction of your treatment will have been discussed in great detail beforehand and the methods and techniques used will be with your full agreement.
What if I can't be hypnotised?
Hypnosis is a mindset that can be achieved by everyone. The level of hypnosis you are able to enter into at any specific time will depend upon numerous factors, one of them being how relaxed and comfortable you feel with your therapist. My aim is to develop a level of trust between us whereby this can happen. If for any reason you are unable to relax sufficiently then more needs to be done for me to dispel any concerns and to reassure you that you are in good hands.
Could I still be in hypnosis when I return home?
No, when your session is coming to an end you will be brought safely out of hypnosis, any suggestions of relaxation will be removed so you are able to go about your day feeling refreshed and invigorated.
