Working with children using hypnosis is particularly rewarding. Firstly because their minds are so adept at imagining anyway, that hypnosis comes as second nature to them.
Entering hypnosis doesn't need to involve closing your eyes and sitting still for long periods of time, active alert hypnosis with the eyes open and the body moving freely is just as effective in order to enter a good hypnotic state. Children are also incredibly open to new ideas, the suggestions made during hypnosis are often accepted easily which is what creates the path for change.
Results are often seen quite rapidly with children for these very reasons, and so therapy can sometimes be quite brief compared to therapy with adults. 2-4 sessions is typical dependent upon the issue we're dealing with.
Hypnosis can be used with very young children from around the age of 4, however I tend to work with children from age 8 upwards. If your child is younger than this please contact me to discuss whether we feel hypnotherapy would be beneficial,
Hypnotherapy can be used to help with many childhood issues, anxiety, low self-esteem, bed wetting, exam nerves, anger issues, breaking habits including nail biting and hair pulling to name but a few.
It's crucial when bringing your child for hypnotherapy, that they are seeking change for themselves and not to try and please anyone else. Change can only occur if it's truly their own desire to do so.
