Before We Begin

Prior to your Initial Consultation I will require a consent form to be completed and returned.  This will enable me to become more aware of you, your circumstances and situation, it gives me an opportunity to get to know you, to know about your issues, life and understand how you communicate. This will be forwarded on via a link once your appointment has been booked.  If for any reason you are unable to access this and return it to me please inform me so I can provide an alternative method for your form to be completed.

Please understand that hypnosis is a collaborative process, and following each session for maximum gain, you'll be expected to take responsibility for doing psychological tasks,  developing self hypnosis techniques and certain exercises to ensure we really do get the changes firmly embedded in your mind and ensure that we make progress even when we are not in a session together.  Studies have proven greater success and long term results are achieved by doing this.

In order for hypnotherapy to be succesful, it's crucial that you are attending for yourself and not to please someone else.  Change can only happen if it is truly your own desire to change.

You do not need to bring anything with you to appointments unless you wear contact lenses.  If you can sleep comfortably in your lenses, no problem.  If not, it's best to remove them for hypnosis, so bring a container of solution to store them in.

You will be quite alert enough to drive home or use public transport after the session.

It is not advisable to undergo hypnosis when you are under the influence of alcohol or 'recreational' drugs.  You should, of course, continue to take any and all medication prescribed by your doctor.

I encourage every client to engage in and discover self hypnosis for themselves, to be used long after your therapy is over.  Enabling you to develop self efficacy and confidence in your abilities to deal with problems and issues that present themselves in the future.
